The bilingual text published last year is presented as a development of situationist theory. It articulates money and the spectacle as two sides of the same coin. By hijacking the analyses of Marx and the situationists, it decisively demolishes the idol. We’ve been asked for it often enough, and we thought it would be a good idea, with the publisher’s agreement, to make it available free of charge to everyone.

A brief history of everything minus everything.
There was a time when the human community lived in the cosmic community, organically.
Knowledge dreamed in the whole and germinated as such in the human community.
The stone, the flower, the bird sang in it, in the poetic enjoyment of the moment.
The knowledge and the know-how were deposited, grew, flew like the stone, the flower, the bird, taught by the stone, the flower, the bird.
But there was a false gesture, of an unsuspected violence: the gesture that seized in a snatching, and the hand closed on the dead object.
The stone, the flower, the bird became property.
The knowledge had separated itself from the whole, separated everything, seized everything.
From the stone, the flower, the bird it retained only their separate properties, the properties of which the separated knowledge knows how to make itself the owner.
The original knowledge of the separated knowledge was the knowledge to dominate.
The stone, the flower, the bird took value, which is their being deprived of being.
The value was born, which is the being that does not need to be to be; the wealth of things abstracted from things: the abstract wealth, the brightness of the world deprived of world.
Gold was the incarnation, the symbolic materialization, which took the brilliance and the form of the sun, and thus was born the currency, which ensures since then the fame of the money-god.
Capitalism gives work to the worker, but this work is the production of money; money formats and reduces the activity of the worker as a strict process of production of money, whatever the commodity produced, a commodity whose final and fundamental function is to be transformed in turn into money.
Capitalism therefore tends to erase from the face of the earth any form of work whose content, modalities, execution, rhythm, do not allow or do not allow enough money to be produced, or worse, do not produce money at all. The profitability of the activity organizes the totality of the aspects of the work required of the worker.
Capitalism is thus the destruction, the denaturation, the alienation and finally the total replacement of all human activity by a simulacrum (which has only the appearance of what it claims to be).
Capitalism does the same with everything: animals, plants, minerals. It does not only take over nature, but also formats it and reduces it to a strict process of money production. Etc.
The aim of capitalism is thus the destruction, the denaturation, the alienation and finally the total replacement of all reality by a simulacrum. It is easy to understand that the production of this simulacrum in place of reality can only degrade it, in all its aspects, and then lead it to extinction.
In the end, when everything has become a commodity, when only money is working and growing, we will realize that there is nothing left. And that will be the end.

On the one hand, the infinite idea of wealth peddled but alienated by the incessant commodity spectacle – on the other, the permanent accounting imposed as the only form of life by the economy. What the left hand of money dangles in front of the wage earner as a producer, the right hand of money takes it away from him as soon as it seizes him as a consumer. « Do you hope for a rich life? Aspire to a rich man’s life »: this is the planetary lie that solidifies domination and submission.
Money has robbed the world of everything so that the world is empty, meaningless, and disenchanted – unless you have money.
And when one has money, it is not to live in a world, which is no longer anything but inessential, and peripheral, but to « live » the money, to participate in the universal representation of wealth.
.
No book had so far attacked so directly the true god of this world.
None had so cruelly exposed the mechanisms of the planetary superstition, the foundations of the globalized wage racket.
Incisive and hard-hitting, this short text overturns all common beliefs concerning the pseudo-wealth of the rich, the pseudo-value of value, the pseudo-legitimacy of domination.
The strength of the coming insurrections will lie in their radical understanding of the mirages and ravages of the economic sham.
This little book hopes to contribute to this.

« Our position in relation to Amazon obeys an editorial strategy of camouflage and smuggling: no distributor-diffuser contacted (Hobo, Pollen, Belles Lettres, Harmonia Mundi, etc.) having so far responded to our repeated solicitations, it is for us a matter of being there, in spite of everything, present in our very singularity. »
